Services Set Here Tuesday for Young Son of Ex-Lubbock Couple
Ronald Zackary Woods, five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Thurman Woods of Bell Garden, California, former Lubbock residents, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Sosebee of 1504 31st Street, died Wednesday, January 26, 1949 in a
hospital in Bell Garden from injuries received last Sunday when a car struck him as he was crossing the street. (Born April 23,
1943 in Flint, Michigan) Funeral services are to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Rix Funeral Home Chapel. The body
is to arrive here early Monday morning. Following the service, interment will be at Tech Memorial Park Cemetery with Rix Funeral directing. The childs parents moved away from Lubbock about three years ago. Woods was associated with Hotel Lubbock when
the family lived here. Other survivors include a sister, Donna Yvonne Woods and a brother, Robert Sosebee Woods, both of Bell Garden; and three half sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Tommy Gwendolyn Corpier) Elkins of Abernathy, Mrs. Thelma (Nettie Thelma Corpier) Muese of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Mary Ruth Corpier of Sacramento, California. (Tech Memorial Park Cemetery is now called Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock) (Ronald was the son of Arymol Haywood and Ora Mae (Kurklin) Sosebee, grandson of John Franklin and Mary Florence (Wylie) Sosebee and the great-grandson of George Washington and Alice Catherine (Pierce) Sosebee.)
