Mrs. Willie Dorothy Halbert Thomas, 84, of the Smith-Bend community in Bosque County, died Tuesday, December 31, at her
residence. She was born November 5, 1918, daughter of the late Minnie Vashtie Goleman and Walter Halbert. She married Roy
Manual Thomas February 8, 1936. She was preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; one son, Jimmy Glenn Thomas; and one
grandson, James Gregory Thomas. Survivors include: her husband; one son, Ronny Gene Thomas and his wife, Susan Witcher, of
Corpus Christi; one daughter-in-law, Linda Lawson Thomas of Fort Worth; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; one sister,
Rebecca Cloteal Gray of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 3, at
Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Burial followed at Whitney Memorial
