Roxie Wilson, 81, of Walnut Springs, died Thursday morn, 2 June 1983 in a Meridian Hospital. Services were held Saturday, 4 June, at 2 pm in the Brister-Lawson Funeral home Chapel in Meridian, with Rev. Bill Schibler & Clayton Young officiating. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery near Glen Rose. Roxie was born 14 March 1902 in Somervell County, & was th edaughter of the late George & Jewel (Lyons) Davis. She was rasied & educated near Glen Rose. She was married 31 Dec 1921 to Charlie Wilson in Glen Rose. She & Charlie had lived in the glen Rose area most of their lives. Roxie was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors: her husband, Charlie Wilson of Walnut Springs; daughter, & son-in-law, Wanda Lee & Vic Cornett of Hico; 3 grandsons: Lanny Cornett, & larry Cornett, both of Walnut Springs, & Lynn Cornett of Brownwood; 2 granddaughters: Vickie Carroll of burleson & Bobbie Cornett of Hico; sister, Mrs. Minnie Lackey of Walnut Springs; 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers: Charles Redden, Lloyd Bohannan, John B. Mounce, Jr., Bill Davis, Nelson Lackey, & Bill Hankins.
