Merritt Thurman Woods, 66, of Lakewood, California, died July 30, 1975 in the Veterans Adminstration Hospital in Long Beach, California. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. at Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Murray Brewer of Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson Funeral Home.
Woods moved from Lubbock in 1941. He was employed by the International Inn in Long Beach California. Woods is survived
by his wife, JessieLenora (Soseb ee) Woods; two sons, Donald M. of Houston, Texas and Robert Sosebee Woods of Los Angeles,
California; four daughters, Mrs. Donna Yvonne (Woods) Hinds of Downey, California, Mrs. Tommie Gwendolyn (Corpier) Elkins of Anaheim, California, Mrs. Mary Ruth (Corpier) Whalen of Lakewood, California and Mrs. Nettie Thelma (Corpier) Muesse of
Hillboro, Texas; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert John Wylie, John Robert Smith, Donny Ray Suter, Johnny
Wayne Skipper, Truett Lynn Skipper, and Billy Frank Skipper. (Merritt was the husband of Jessie Lenora (Sosebee) Woods)
