Funeral services for Mrs. Miriam Young who died suddenly on February 4, 1949 was held at the Missionary Baptist Church Sunday at 3 o’clock conducted by the pastor F.E. Weller. Lister Funeral home of Meridan in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Miriam Pollard was born in Bosque County, Texas November 18, 1891 and
was united in marriage to Mr. J.W. Young July 11, 1906. Mr. Young passed away February 14, 1938. Mrs. Young leaves the following survivors: three daughters; Mrs. J.E. Hinton, Mrs. Sue Pruitt and Mrs. A.D. Shelley all of Whitney; four sons;
Cleveland and Oliver Clyde Young of Whitney; Glenn Alden Young with the Navy in the Phillipine Islands; Corp. Gerald Ray Young of Fort Belvoir, Virginia, there are 7 grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Jim Epps of Blum and two brothers; Isaac and Tom Pollard of Whitney. Pallbearers were: Otto Shelley, Bill Heath, A.M. Greenwade, Walton Greenwade, Roy Young and M.T. Greenwade. Interment was in Bethlehem Cemetery. Mrs. Young was highly respected by a host of friends who will long remember her as one who loved her home and was ever ready to render help to anyone in need.
