Lynie Skipper

ABERNATHY (Special )  Services for Lynie Olivia (Sosebee) Skipper, 88, of Abernathy will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday  in Abernathy Church of Christ with David Bennett, a Church of Christ minister, and the Rev. Mike Wilcox, pastor of Abernathy First Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock under direction of Abell Funeral home. She died Friday, February 20, 1998, in Lubbock’s St. Mary’s Hospital.  She was born December 10, 1909 in Womack, Bosque County, Texas.  She married
Dempsey Daniel Skipper on June 26, 1926  in Jones County, Texas.  He died October 3, 1977.  She moved to Abernathy from Jones County in 1926.  She was a member the Church of Christ. Survivors include four sons, Billy Frank Skipper and Johnny Wayne Skipper, both of Abernathy, and Gary Dan Skipper and Truett Lynn Skipper of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Highway, Lubbock, Texas  79403. (Lynie was the daughter of John Franklin and Mary Florence (Wylie) Sosebee and the granddaughter of George Washington and Alice Catherine (Pierce) Sosebee.)
