Services for Jessie Lenora (Sosebee)Woods, 78, of Anaheim, Calif., will be at 10:00 a.m. today in Resthaven Funeral Home
Chapel with Jerry Chism, pastor of Abernathy Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park
under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. She died Sunday in Humana West Hospital in Orange, Calif., after a
lengthy illness. She was born August 12, 1908 in Womack and had lived in the Lubbock and Slaton area. She was a
homemaker. She married Merrit Thurman Woods in the 1940s in Lubbock. He died July 30, 1975. A son, Ronald Zachary
Woods, died in January 26, 1949. Survivors include a son, Robert S. (Robert Sosebee Woods) of North Hollywood,
Calif.; a step-son, Don of Houston; four daughters, Tommie Gwendolyn (Corpier) Elkins of Anaheim, Mary Ruth (Corpier)
Whalen of California, Nettie Ruth (Corpier) Muesse of Hillsboro and Donna Yvonne (Woods) Hides of Boston,
Mass; a sister, Lynie Olevia (Sosebee) Skipper of Abernathy; and six grandchildren. (Jessie was the daughter of John Franklin
and Mary Florence (Wylie) Sosebee and the granddaughter of George Washington and Alice Catherine (Pierce) Sosebee.)
