Frances Metcalf, 74, of Joshua, died Sunday afternoon, 29 Aug 1982 in St.
Joseph Hospital, Ft. Worth, after an extended illness. Services were held
Wednesday afternoon, Sep. 1, at Brister-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in
Meridian, with Rev. Joe Lee of Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Green
Acres Memorial Cemetery in Cleburne. Born 1 Nov 1907 in Rio Vista, to the
late Frank & Nancy Weston Ryals, she moved to Bosque County as a small
child & settled in the Steiner & Kopperl areas, where she was raised. She
married Fred Metcalf on 17 Oct 1929, in Kopperl. Frances was a former
resident of hIll County, & Ft. worht & had live in Joshua for th epast 18 years.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors: her husband,
Fred Metcalf of Joshuea; daughter, Mrs. Harold (Juanita) Ballinger of Joshua;
sister, Mrs. Annie Hasty of Meridian; 2 brothers: James Ryals of Morgan &
George Ryals of Ft. Worth; 1 granddaughter; 2 great grandchildren; 4 step
grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren. Pallbearers: George Ivy, Gary
Johnston, John Land, Lewis Land, Glen Land, & Wayne land.
