De Ett Sosebee Rose

De Ett Sosebee Rose was the daughter of Walter Robert Sosebee and
Lottie Mae Overton; granddaughter of George Washington Sosebee and
Alice Catherine Pierce.  George Washington lived near Walling Bend (under
Lake Whitney).  The cliff at Soldier’s (Sosebee’s) Bluff was named after him.

Mrs. De Ett Sosebee Rose, 81, of Fort Worth died Saturday, January 26. She was
born May 13, 1920 in Meridian, daughter of Walter Robert and Lottie Mae Overton
Sosebee. She married Tolbert Nelson Rose September 12, 1936 in Whitney and he
preceded her in death September 22, 1960. She was a long-time employee of
Monnig’s Department Store. Survivors include: three children and their spouses,
Jetty Dean Rose and wife, Norma, of Burleson, JoAnn Roark and husband, Bob,
of Crowley and Betty Miller and husband, Ray, of Joshua.

Funeral services were held at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel
in Whitney Sunday, January 27, with burial at Whitney Memorial Cemetery.
