Harold Edward Hilderbrand

Dr. Harold Edward HILDERBRAND died on Saturday, 15 February 2003, at home in Meridian.  He was born in Baca County,
Colorado, to Viola Cordes Hilderbrand and Gilbert I. Hilderbrand.  The family lived in Miami, Ottawa County, Oklahoma, and
he graduated from Miami High School in 1936.  He graduated from Oklahoma University in 1943 with an M.D. degree and went
to Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, for medical internship.  He was a captain in the Army Medical Corps for two
years.  After discharge, he started a practice in Rockport, then moved to Goliad, Goliad County, Texas, and practiced
medicine for 16 years.  On 24 January 1963, he married Carolyn Koenig in Beeville, Texas.  The family moved to Valley
Mills and on to Meridian, where he practiced medicine for 21 years until retirement in 1986.  Survivors: wife, Carolyn
Koenig Hilderbrand of Meridian, sons Keith Hilderbrand and Keith Hilderbrand, both of Meridian, and Van Hilderbrand and
his wife, Christy, of Austin.  Grandchildren were Tori Bodnar of Moody, Texas, Keisha Hilderbrand of Opelika, Alabama,
Keith A. Hilderbrand, Jr., of Kurten, Texas, and C. K. Hilderbrand of Austin, Texas.  There were three
great-grandchildren.  Lawson Funeral Home of Meridian was in charge.  No services were scheduled.
