Last Rites Held for C.F. Grimm/Karl Friederich Wilhelm Grimm Who Died at 81
Mr. C. F. Grimm, of Meridian, who died Sunday, January 7, 1951, in Holt hospital at Meridian, Texas, had been in failing health several years and became seriously ill a short time before his death.  Funeral services were held in Brister Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas, January 8, 1951, conducted by Rev. Carl H. Mutschink, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clifton, Texas, followed by interment in Meridian Cemetery.  His grandsons were pallbearers.  Mr. Grimm was born  April 3, 1869, in Austin County, near Sealy and was 81 years, 9 months and 5 days of age at the time of his death and had lived in Bosque County since 1906, about 45 years.  He was united in marriage to Miss Marie Patent in the year 1890, a little over 60 years ago.  To this union 12 children were born five sons and seven daughters, nine of whom survive their father.  Three daughters preceded him in death, two in infancy and the other about 20 years ago.  Mr. Grimm was baptized in the Luthern faith in Washington County, Texas, at the age of 23.  Surviving Mr. Grimm are his wife, Mrs. C. F. Grimm; four daughters, Mrs. R. P. Bass and Mrs. John Hanna of Meridian, Mrs. O.D. Cox of Grandview and Mrs. Collis Williams of Walnut Springs; five sons E. H. and Gus of Meridian, Lewis of Dallas, Walter of Hamlin and Marvin of Clifton; two brothers, Lewis Grimm and Rudolph Windt of Brenham; one sister, Mrs. Ida Sternberg of Brenham; 26 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends to mourn the passing of one who had filled all the stations of life and filled them well.
