Morris Allen, 74, of Iredell, died suddenly Friday morning, 12 Nov. 1983 at his residence. Services were held Sunday afternoon, Nov 14, at the Brister-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel, Meridian, with Rev. Bobby Paxton & Rev. Mike Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Iredell Cemetery. Morris was born 9 July 1908 in Bosque County to the late John & Martha Victoria Cottle Allen. He was rasied & educated in the Meridian area, & had lived in the Iredell & Meridian areas all of his life. He worked as a rancher on the Dr. R.S. Nail Ranch for many years, until retiring in 1978. Morris married Maudie Crawford, who preceded him in death in 1965. In 1966, he married Mary Williams. He & his wife had lived in Iredell for the past year, moving from Meridian. Survivors: his wife, Mary Allen of Iredell; 1 daughter, Mrs. Dorthy Koehler of Waco; 3 sisters: Myrtle Ruth of Crowley, Allene White of beemead, & Lorene Crawford of Clifton; 4 brothers: Alvin Allen of Clifton, Gene Allen of Cleburne, Milford Allen of Arkansas, & Lynn Allen of Crowley; 2 step daughters: Mrs. Ray Belknap of Iredell & Mrs. Wanda Allen of Clebunre; 2 step sons: Milton Williams of Morgan & Bobby Williams of Greenville; 21 granchildren; 19 great grandchildren. Pallbearers: David Brooks, Donald E. Grigsley, Jr., Glenn Crawford, Robert Crawford, Ricky Allen, & Billy Allen.
