Services for Carl William Rudolph Blum of Clifton, 87, who died at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home at 6pm May 23 1988 after an illness of about one month, were held at 2pm May 25 at Riley Funeral Chapel in Hamilton, with Revs. Matthew McKellar and Mark Turman officiating. Burial was in Bulman Cemetery.
Born on Dec 3, 1900, in Washington County, TX, Carl was the son of Edward and Ajonke Blum. He was married to Zella White on April 21, 1921, in Hamilton, TX. He had lived for 61 years in the Pleasant Valley Community and 6 years in Clifton. He was a farmer and rancher and member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one sone, Nelson Blum, who died during the Korean War. Pallbearers were Carl Dennis Winton, Jimmy Franklin Winton, Milton Amundson, Charles Nelson Blum, and Frank Courtney, Jr. of Crosby.
Survivors include his wife, Zella White Blum of Clifton; 2 sons: June G. Blum, and wife, Jo Ann of Cranfills Gap and Alan Blum of Grand Prairie; 1 daughter: Gaylon Blum Winton and husband, Carl, of Arlington; 6 grandchildren: Carl Dennis Winton of Angleon, Jimmy Franklin Winton of Rosenburg, Milton L. Amundson of Clifton, Michelle Blum of Grapevine, Nancy Lee Blum of Grand Prairie, and Charles Nelson Blum of Grand Prairie; and 4 great, great grandchildren.
