Lincoln D Herring Sr

The Rev. J. B. Everett of Buckner Boys Ranch, Burnett, will conduct funeral services Wednesday, August 16, 1972, at 10 a.m. in Burkett Baptist Church for Lincoln D. Herring, Sr., 69, of Burkett (TX).
Assisting Rev. Everett will be the Rev. Tommy Larner, pastor of Burkett Baptist Church. Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna will be in charge of arrangements, and interment will be in Burkett Cemetery.  Mr. Herring died Monday, Aug. 14, in Ranger Park Hospital, Santa Anna. A Baptist and resident of Coleman County since 1933, he retired as a laborer in 1968. He had moved here from Bosque
County.  Son of the late David Moses Herring and Molly Josephine Brock Herring, he was born Oct. 14, 1902 in Iredell.  He and Cora Lee Everett were married in Hamilton on Feb. 20, 1925.  Surviving him are his widow of Burkett; four daughters, Mrs. Juanna B. Cochran of Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Selesea May Epperson of Ft. Worth, Mrs. Rowena K. Anderson of Santa Anna and Mrs. Sharon Lee Childers of Cisco; four sons, Billy Joe Herring of Jenks, Okla., James Clark Herring of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sylvester Ray Herring of Mineral Wells and L. D. Herring Jr. of Ft. Worth; four sisters, Mrs. Katie Worrell of Waco, Mrs. Ona Groveunder and Mrs. Esther Borgman of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Linnie Walker of Colorado City; one brother, John Robert Herring of Santa Anna; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
