FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR BOB BASS
Funeral Services for Mr. Bob Bass, 87, of Meridian, were held Monday
afternoon, July 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the Brister-Lawson Chapel with Minister Clayton Young and Rev. Richard Creech officiating.  Burial was in the Meridian Cemetery.  Mr. Bass passed away Saturday afternoon, July 21, in the Meridian Geriatric Center where he resided for the past several years.  Mr. Bass was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Ann Littlefield Bass.  He was born February 8, 1892, in Athens, Texas, and came to Bosque County at an early age.  On February 16, 1913, he was united in marriage to the former Helen Grimm near Meridian.  Mr. Bass had lived in Meridian for the past 59 years, moving here from Clifton where he lived for a short time.  He was a former employee of the Bosque County Courthouse.  City of Meridian and Texas Highway Department.  He was a long time member of the Meridian Fire Department and was a member of the Meridian First Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife on February 3, 1973, and a son Charles E. Bass and a daughter Cloris M. Woodworth.  Survivors are one son, LeRoy Bass of Pasadena; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Fry of Waco and Mrs. Bobbie Abbott of Austin; one sister, Mrs. Trudie Caperton of Whitney; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Pallbearers were Tom Offutt, Rex Anderson, Billy Ray Hardcastle, L.D.
Alexander, Charles St. Clair and Lee Erickson.
